Thread spools that are made of three-ply mercerized cotton. Mercerized cotton is specially treated to improve its luster and strength, resulting in a smooth sewing thread. Each spool weighs 5 grams (approximately 110 meters). The thread is pulled from the center to prevent forming knots. Threads are sold as individual spools, or as a set of 12 in a decorative box.
